Peter Myers

Born in Beverley in the East Riding of Yorkshire (a long time ago) but still a very proud Yorkshire Man.

After obtaining a first class honours degree in pure chemistry from the University of Salford I continued my studies for a PhD in maths, physics and chemistry. At the same time I met my wife Susan.

From University I started my industrial career with Unilever Research, Port Sunlight, working on the development of in house monitors for the detergent industry.

I joined Phase Separations in 1979 and became the Technical Director in 1985, being responsible for the manufacture of spherical ceramics for use in chromatography.

With Phase Separations now being owned by Waters I act as an independent consultant in all areas of chromatography ranging from instrumentation, hardware and software to applications in HPLC, SPE, CEC and GC.

Now in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Liverpool I have a research group in chromatographic science.
